Deep Fried Okra

1 lb. fresh okra
1 cup flour (all-purpose)
1 cup cracker meal
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 inch of oil (to pan size)

Combine flour, meal, and 1 teaspoon salt. Combine egg, milk, and 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper. Dip okra into egg mixture. Remove with slotted spoon. Roll in flour mixture. Fry. *Can flash freeze on cookie sheet, then transfer to airtight container.

  1. OMG I Love These!! I strongly suggest you prepare and flash freeze as many of these as you can using summer okra fresh from the garden!! Then stor in an air tight container they taste like they are straight fromt he garden in the middle of the Winter!!
